I've been wanting to book a family photography session for a while now, what can I expect if I book a session with you?
You can expect a unique, personalized photography experience that captures your family as you are right now, in this phase of life. Upon booking, you will receive a Welcome Guide with detailed information about what to expect and how to prepare. This will also include a list of my preferred locations.
In the weeks leading up to our shoot, we will communicate via text and/or email to coordinate your family's wardrobe based on your location choice (not all colors work well in certain locations). Then, one week before we meet, you'll receive a short questionnaire so I can get to know your family a bit better.
During your session, we'll chat and have fun and smile for the camera a little bit too. I'll "pose" you very specifically, and then prompt you to do things that encourage candid, real moments between your family.
About three weeks later, you'll receive your digital files in a private online gallery. At that point, we will discuss print packages for your walls and frames at home (this part is completely optional, but very much encouraged).
I'm expecting a baby and I want to book a newborn session. What can I expect if I book a newborn photography session with you?
I LOVE photographing newborns! Bringing home a new baby is one of the most meaningful and emotional experiences of your life, and it should absolutely be documented! I don't do baskets or beanbags or props of any kind, I do family connections, so we'll focus on interaction with the new baby (for an example of my newborn photography style, CLICK HERE).
Upon booking, you will receive a Welcome Guide with detailed information about what to expect and how to prepare. Newborn sessions are shot at your home (or in a rented studio for an extra fee) and take about 2-3 hours. We'll hang out in the nursery, cuddle in bed (you guys, not me!) and just chat about your new little person as we move along! I'll "pose" you very purposefully to utilize the best natural light in your home, and then prompt you to do things that encourage natural interaction. About three weeks later, you'll receive your digital files in a private online gallery. At that point, we will discuss print packages for your walls and frames at home (this part is completely optional, but very much encouraged).
My home is messy and cluttered and looks nothing like the images I see on your website...
Who doesn't have a bit of mess and clutter at home when they're trying to raise a family?! Spoiler alert....everyone does! So I've kind of become an expert at "rearranging." I'll ask you to clean up a bit the day of our session, but don't go overboard. There's no need to sanitize your home! We'll strategically place you in certain areas of the house (near the brightest natural light) and move things around as needed. If you're particularly concerned for some reason, you are more than welcome to send me cell phone pictures of your living spaces so I can help alleviate your anxiety with a game plan.
How long until I see my images? What's included?
Every JKP photography session is "all inclusive," meaning you'll receive a high resolution digital copy of all the professionally edited images in your gallery, plus a complimentary 4x6 print of each. These are for personal use only. Turn around time for finished client galleries is typically about three weeks. Additional print products are available and sold separately.
Sounds great! How do I book?
Awesome! I cannot wait to work with you! To book your session, fill out the contact form in the main menu (or just CLICK HERE) and I'll get back to you within a few hours. We'll discuss what it is you're looking for, and choose a date for your session. Then I'll email you a booking contract and an invoice. Your booking contract can be signed electronically, and your invoice can be paid online. Only your retainer fee is due in full up front; your remaining balance is due a week before the session. Please note that due to the nature of my photography schedule, I cannot officially reserve a date without a signed contract and paid retainer.
